About the author
I am an engineer living and working in Saint Paul, Minnesota.

I have a bachelor's and master's degree in chemical engineering from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. In 2004, I moved to Fribourg, Switzerland, to pursue a Ph.D. in physics. In 2008, I successfully defended my thesis, entitled Heterogeneous dynamics in squeezed colloidal systems.
Following my Ph.D., I worked for one year as a postdoctoral researcher in Rennes, France, where I took full advantage of the marché des lices, one of the finest farmer's markets in France. I then moved to Ithaca, New York, to work at Cornell University.
When not working, I enjoy traveling, cooking, brewing, and spending time outside with my family.
